Recess Monkey - In Tents
I've never heard of a music genre called "Kindie" before, so being a very big music fan I thought I'd give it a listen. I must say initially I would never have realised this if the introduction sheet I received didn't mention that this album is aimed at children ages 3-8. This is because the music is suited for people of any age. I really like it myself.
Recess Monkey is a trio of kindie rockers from Seattle, initially starting out as teachers all at the same school before indulging in their passion for entertaining kids through music.
In Tents is themed around the circus, a perfect place for comedy, drama and plenty of shenanigans. The CD insert also includes a story about how their rather unscrupulous band manager, Mayor Monkey, sells all the bands' equipment to a rather shady Boregaard Noregaard in exchange for a circus. The rest of the story takes them through exploring the circus they now own and people they meet. The mix of upbeat music and catchy, memorable music and lyrics make for tunes that both kids and parents alike will be singing along to (I know I couldn't resist humming some of their songs after listening to the CD). I would recommend all you moms and dads out there should get this for your kids as it will have your kids bouncing and dancing around for hours! In Tents will be released June 19th 2012 and will be available for $15.00 at Recess Monkeys site, Amazon, CD Baby, The AV Cafe, Big Kids, iTunes, and Barnes & Noble.

Disclaimer: Recess Monkey did send me a CD for free, even so I would never say I liked something if I did not. All opinions are my own.
