Nuts About Granola Review and $10.00 Gift Card Giveaway (US. ONLY)

Is a company out of Pennsylvania  which was founded by a mother and daughter
who wanted a snack that was good for you and would help
refuel people during athletic events.
They used the freshest local ingredients they could find and
the results were
Nuts About Granola.
College Staple Lover’s Combo
I was very fortunate to have received two sample packs of Granola
and
Lovers Combo which is Plane Jane with semi sweet chocolate chips.
When I got them I was stymied how was I going to use them...the packs were sort of small.
So I did what I always do and opened them, sniffed and passed them around for every one else to sniff.
Everyone was my husband, son in law James and myself.
I didn't find anything unusual about the sent, it smelled good. So we all tasted them.
My husband said YUM, but then he loves all things Granola.
So I tasted them first the Plain Jane then the Lovers.
They are very tasty and they don't taste exactly the same. The Plain Jane had a cinnamon spark to it, almost
like apple pie, the Lovers had more of a peanut butter flavor to it.
I though they were chewy and I like my granola on the crunchy side and so does James.
However my husband thought they were very good, and said they were fine the way they are.

So after the tasting, I had even less, about half a bag each. So now what?
I decided to make muffins and use the rest to top them.
Here is the recipe I used:
First I picked out the remaining chocolate chips and mixed the two granola samples together.

Apple Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup apples - peeled, cored and finely diced

  • *I gilded the Lily and added about 1/4 to 1/2 c granola for a topping
  • Also I used 1/3 cup apple sauce instead of the oil.

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Grease bottoms only of 12 muffin cups or line with baking cups.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt; mix well. In a small bowl, combine apple juice, oil, and egg; blend well. Add dry ingredients all at once; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened (batter will be lumpy.) Stir in chopped apples.
  3. Fill cups 2/3 full. Top with granola
  4. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 1 minute before removing from pan. Serve warm.

They were delightful with the granola topping and the apple peanut butter flavors went
beautifully together.

They didn't last long in my house!
