Quick & Easy Cleaning with Effervescent Denture Cleanser Tablets!! Review and Giveaway! Ends 10/16

Have you ever thought of using effervescent denture tablets for more then cleaning just dentures? I do wear dentures but I never thought of using the cleaning tablets for anything but my teeth. In truth when I accepted this review I thought I was going to be trying out a new tablet on my teeth. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I could use my denture cleaner tablets for a lot more. All you do is drop the tablets into hot or warm water in what ever you need to clean and they do the rest. You have to adjust the amount of tablets to the size of the item .

Some Favorite Uses (and we’re sure you’ll find more!)
Coffeemakers – fill the reservoir with water, add a few tabs, soak for a while or overnight and rinse well. Don't run through heated cycle. Rinse well and run a clear water cycle.
Cruets / Decanters   – break tabs into small pieces to fit inside hard-to-clean small-necked glass or ceramics. Let soak for a couple hours or overnight. Shake occasionally and rinse well.
Kids Bath toys – 3-10 tabs in a pail of hot water with toys. Soak for 30-60 mins and rinse well!
Enamel / Glass / Stainless cookware – soak in water with 3-10 tablets to remove burnt-on spots and crusty stuff. Scrub lightly if necessary.
Porcelain sinks – Add 4-10 tablets to standing hot water in sink and soak 30-60 mins (or overnight) to remove tough stains. Scub lightly if necessary. Leaves sparkling.
Little stuff – ideal for make-up brushes (swish & soak just the bristles) mani-pedi tools, toothbrush holders hair clips, hair brushes & combs, pen/pencil holders, cosmetic trays etc.
Note: Although some folks rave about using to clean jewelry, others warn that it can weaken metal and dull gemstones – best to err on the side of caution and not use with jewelry.

I am an avid bottle collector so I decided to try this out on some of my very old and very stubborn bottles. I have tried every way you can think of to clean the dirt and yuck from inside these very old and once buried bottles.  Farmers used to have dumps(some of them still do) out in their pastures. They just took what ever and dumped it where no one would see it. Treasure hunters like me go out and have a dig see and come up with old artifacts. I found these three bottles in a garden spot I had in Pennsylvania behind what used to be an old grocery store. They were completely filled with a hard packed dirt and even though I coaxed most of it out I didn't get all of it. So I filled the bottles with hot water and took 6 effervescent tablets, crushed them and divided them between the three bottles. Even though the bottles were not completely filled they bubbled over some.I left them over night like I do my teeth. While the first treatment did not completely clean my bottles of all their stains ( after all, the smaller bottles are about a hundred years old) the tablets did remove all the stubborn dirt and they are much cleaner. I am going to try and boil them in vinegar water again to see if I can't get the rest of the calcium deposit off them. My husband cleaned our coffee maker and while he did it with out me there so I did not get pictures he said that he liked the results.

I would say that this is a really cool idea. You don't have to buy the really expensive brands Walmart, Walgreens and most other stores carry their own  plain label brands for these effervescent tablets!
