My Review:

I'm so excited to be able to bring this Review & Giveaway to you from Better Batter: Sampler Set of Gluten Free Mixes! This should keep you and me cooking all fall! As you know I am continuing my search for Gluten Free products that can easily be made Vegan as well and taste great! I've only been able to sample Better Batter's All Purpose Flour Mix so far. I like that the Xanthum gum is already in the mix! I've had some mixes where you have to add that extra. I have been wanting to try making my Vegan Challah bread with a gluten free mix! Better Batter you are the guinea pig.

OK...It is a stormy day here...winds, rain and cold. What better of a day to make some bread? I just tasted the finished product and I could jump for joy and spin in circles and sing sing sing! I made the Vegan Challah Bread Recipe Gluten Free and it is divine!! It tastes so good and the mouth appeal of the bread is fabulous. I really wouldn't know it was gluten free! In fact, my husband had some and said he'd never know it was not my normal Vegan Challah Bread which we LOVE! I'll give you the substitutions I made and you can make the changes on the original Vegan Challah Bread Recipe here.

The substitutions I made were:

For the flour I used 6 cups Better Batter All Purpose Flour Mix and to this I added 1/2 tsp Xanthum Gum.
I used 1/2 cup organic pure cane sugar
I used 1/2 cup safflower oil
I used bananas that were yellow and ready to eat...NOT black or spotted

I basically followed the same recipe using all the ingredients as listed except for the 4 changes I have outlined above. What I noticed of course was that kneading the bread was a bit different feeling and I didn't knead it as long. It did rise both times. The bread wasn't as smooth on the outside as I could get it with normal flour but who cares? The taste was the same! I have found a bread recipe we all like and it will satisfy my bread cravings and I'll use leftovers (if there are any) for bread pudding! Thank You Better Batter! I didn't want my readers to have to wait until I sampled the other 5 Better Batter mixes to bring this giveaway to you! I plan to post reviews & recipes of Better Batter mixes throughout the fall. Keep checking back for these!
