Warning! Recalls on Dog Food and Watch Out there are deadly Treats on the shelves!

Bil-Jack has issued a voluntary recall due to mold in it's dog food. Read about it Here!

Also Per NBC News & Pet and Bird Clinic in Austin TX There are a lot of dogs dying due to bad chicken jerky dog treats that are made in China! . Apparently Chinese Government Officials are refusing to let U.S. inspectors into the plants that produced the jerky that is to blame for the deaths of not only the more then 2,000 U.S.dogs but deaths in Canada also. Whats more NBC News reports that these treats are sold by Nestle Purina and they include Waggin Train!  Per an FDA inspector explained that Chinese officials would only allow samples to be collected if they were analyzed in Chinese run laboratories, so they did not collect any. Nestle Purina reportedly says that the inspections found nothing wrong with the product and no evidence that it lead to the dogs deaths. They have done nothing despite the over 63,000 signatures asking Nestle Purina to recall these deadly dog treats. You can sign the petition here.
Pet and Bird reports that this started June 2011 when Canadian Veterinarians started reporting kidney disease. Whats the most disturbing is that these products are STILL ON THE MARKET. Apparently some dogs can tolerate the treats while others can not.
Symptoms can include:
  • Loss of appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea, sometimes bloody
  • Increased thirst and/or urination
  • Decreased activity

What does Bloggity Blog say? Buy only jerky treats made in America. I endorsed a product Smart Bones earlier this year. I put a call in to their customer service line and I will let you know if they are made here in the USA, if not I will be retracting my endorsement of this product.
