Hope Harris - Picasso, Thats Who! (And So Can You!) Review and Giveaway US & CA Ends 5/31/12

Hope Harris - Picasso, Thats Who! (And So Can You!)

While I'm not an avid artist as far as painting is concerned, music is another art and one I am very fond of. When I was asked to review Hope Harris's 'Picasso, That's Who! (And So Can You!)' which explores various artists through her music (such as Picasso), I was intrigued.

Hailing from Richmond, VA, Hope Harris is a University of Virginia/Neighbourhood Playhouse School of Theater graduate. She has spent many years both living and peforming in NYC, appearing on and off of Broadway, and in regional and stock productions across the country. A crowning success in the kids' realm was her appearance for 3 years running as 'Baker Bobbie' for the Park Slope, Brooklyn, for which she is also a scriptwriter.

The upbeat and diverse sound of Picasso, That's Who! and its inspiring lyrics will appeal to more than just your kids, the whole family was jigging to her music when we listened to it. All the music is graced with energy that will fuel your kids to delve further into the world of these artists. This album will also spark curiosity in your children about the world around them. The music triggers the imagination as Hope sings her way through the lives of artists like Pablo Piccaso, Grandma Moses and Georgia O'Keefe. Just listening to her sing about Claude Monet makes me want to go to a museum and see works by all 10 of the artists she sings of. Hope ends the CD with a message that you can also Paint A Picture,Too!

I really liked this CD with it's entrancing melodies, it seems to me that Hopes music is has a country flair to it, however through out the CD it changes and takes on jazz and Cajun tones. I highly recommend ths CD for people of all ages!

'Picasso, That's Who! (And So Can You!)' will be available on May 22nd for $15.00 at Hope Harris's website, Amazon, CDBaby and via distribution by Newsound Kids, at independant retailers nationwide.
