When I went back to work, I was tired when I got home yet I still had the house things and kid things to do so food became quick. We ate take out A LOT and we had a lot of those frozen entree dinners, you know lasagna, salisbury steak that sort of thing. Because of our lifestyle the pounds crept up on me a little at a time until one day I looked in the mirror and didn't see me anymore. I think this is how it is with most mom's we lose ourselves.
While Dustin says that there are other plans out there that are good and work, his isn't a fad or a gimmick it is a plan that works it is based on 5 pillars of fitness, mindset, nutrition, strength training , burst training and environment. He believes that traditional cardio doesn't burn fat or that workouts will compensate for bad eating habits. In his book he takes us through each of the 5 pillars along with 31 moms who share their before and after pictures and stories of how they fought to get back in shape and won. He teaches us how to apply the pillars in our lives and to be successful in the changes we need to make. How to figure out what it is and why it is you are wanting to get fit and go from there.
For me when I got sick with leukemia and was put on steroids my already slightly pudgy body exploded and the ordeal to get back my body and get fit has been a nightmare. I have tired every weight loss package that has been thrown my way. A year ago I knew that if I did not get fit I was going to die and with my husbands help I found a doctor who has helped me and I finally started to see results and have lost 65 pounds. So my nutrition is pretty much in place but I need to get an exercise program, one that I can actually follow and use with my capabilities. For me Fit Moms for Life is just what I need and I want to thank Dustin from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of this, I had all but given up hope of ever getting me back.
Do you feel the same way as I do? Have you hit all the fads and blown all the bells and whistles and not have them work? Did you know you can burn fat in your sleep? I didn't before I read this book. Fit Moms for Life retails for $19.95 but is worth so much more, it is worth your life. I hope we can talk more about this as we reach our goals. Mine is to 1) get to 150 pounds and then see from there where I want to go. What's yours?
