Happy Homemade Money Savers

I read a blog yesterday that talked about homemade clothes softeners and laundry detergent. I don't know about you but this girl can use a savings here. I am helping to support 2 children in college and they often let the laundry go until it takes me a week to catch up or $100.00 at a laundry mat to get it all washed.
So today I went looking for the recipes!

Laundry Softener from Food.com




Ingredients:

Makes 15 Cups:

  • cup baking soda
  • cups distilled white vinegar
  • cups water
  • 10 -15 drops orangeessential oils (optional) or 10 -15 dropslemonessential oils (optional) or 10 -15 drops essential oils , of choice (optional)

Directions:

    You will need a one gallon container.

    First add the baking soda to the plastic container.
  3. 3
    Next add 1 cup of water to start with.

    Slowly add the vinegar to the bottle as the vinegar and baking soda will start to fizz.

    Then add the rest of the water swirling around & cover venting the top a few times.

    Last add the essential oil.

    Add 1 cup in your final rinse cycle for each load but give the bottle a good shake to stir up the essential oil if using.
Here is a Second one:


Ingredients:
6 cups HOT water
3 cups white vinegar
2 cups Suave conditioner the scent of your choice
Mix conditioner & hot water well, until conditioner is dissolved completely.
Add the vinegar, and mix well.
Store in a large container {empty fabric softener container, empty large vinegar bottle, etc}
Pour into a downy ball… or use approx. 2 tbsp.
