Gardein Review and Giveaway

Gardein is a company that came to the US in 2009
it's focus to bring us great tasting non meat vegetable based foods.
I was blessed to have received coupons to review this product.
My local store only carries a limited supply of their products so
when I went to get some they only had the beef tips.
I was skeptical because there wasn't much in the package and it cost 5.39
I thought for my hungry crew I would have to get 3 packs at least to fill them up.
So I made this after everyone went home : ).
The directions were super easy, brown and don't over cook.
THEY SMELLED WONDERFUL as they cooked.
They suggest a couple of ways to serve them. However I had my own ideas:
I had some vegitables, cabbage, carrots, onions, celery and a potato which I cut up
and tossed in the skillet I had browned the meat in, then I added water and my favorite spices.
I added a teaspoon of corn starch to thicken it and just before I was ready to serve it I added the
meatless Gardein Beefless Tips.
With the exception of the texture not being quite like meat. I have to tell you that this
beef loving burger eating girl can get used to this stuff. It was fantastic. The flavor
is delicious and to my surprise, I was able to serve my husband and I each a bowl of the stew
and have enough for him to take to work for dinner and still enough for my supper also!

So with that in mind I am going to get a couple more bags and either make kabobs or another stew like this when the kids come home this weekend to see how they like them! To me this is a win!
Gardein has a lot of different varieties and I am going to talk to the manager of the healthy food section
at my store to see if she can get some more varieties in. I would love to try more of them out!
